Welcome

Gabriella Café serves lunch (or brunch, both Saturday and Sunday) and dinner seven days a week. Located in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, we opened our doors in December of 1992. In May of 2007, Chef Sean Baker began working as Executive Chef in the kitchen, with the talented Jessica Yarr as Pastry Chef.

Our desire to serve only the freshest seasonal local organic produce underlies everything we do. We are especially pleased to announce a partnership with beautiful Lindencroft Farm, owned and operated by Linda and Steven Butler. Linda will be growing specialty crops for our kitchen, and she and Sean are busy researching seed catalogs for ideas.

And with the Santa Cruz Farmers Market only three blocks away, we are doubly blessed. Fresh vegetables and fruit from organic farms around Santa Cruz (Happy Boy, Thomas, Happy Valley, Swanton Berry, Route 1, Pinnacle, Windmill, Dirty Girl Produce, and Blue Heron) are abundant on our menus. We use Niman Ranch and TLC Ranch products—sustainably and humanely raised meats—and sustainable seafoods.

Christina Waters pronounced, "As far as exciting Santa Cruz dining-of-the-moment is concerned, Sean Baker at Gabriella is the bomb. Taste and moan dining—see the comments on my website!" Readers of Good Times, a local entertainment weekly, consistently vote Gabriella Café the most romantic place in downtown Santa Cruz—as did Sunset magazine when they visited. Owner Paul Cocking named the restaurant for one of his daughters.

Gabriella Cafe is #1 on Yahoo Travel, and is in the Top Ten at TripAdvisor.com. The cafe has received high marks in every issue of Zagat since 2001.

UPDATE: September 27, 2007:
We are no longer selling at the Santa Cruz farmers markets.
